Urban Life Church has been around since 2020.

We are a Christ-centered church committed to helping people know God, grow in faith, and live out His purpose in their daily lives. Our mission is to create a welcoming community where people from all backgrounds can experience God's love, build meaningful relationships, and discover the hope found in Jesus Christ.

We seek to equip individuals and families to grow spiritually and make a positive impact in their communities. We believe the church is more than a building—it is a family of believers united by faith, compassion, and a desire to share God's love with the world.

Whether you are exploring faith for the first time, returning to church, or looking for a place to belong, you are welcome here. We invite you to join us as we grow together, serve others, and follow Christ.

What We Believe

urban life church | statement of faith

we believe | The bible is the inspired word of god through the holy spirit. it is true.
(2 timothy 3:16)

we believe | God is eternal, the only one and true living god and exists in three persons: Father, son and holy spirit
(matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10, 11)

We believe | the human race is fallen from its original, created goodness because of the sin of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
(Genesis 1:27, 3:1-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:12, 5:19.)

we believe | Jesus is god, born of a virgin birth and the son of man. only through him there is salvation and redemption from condemnation of sin
(john 1:1; John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 2Corinthians 5:21; Luke 1:31,35)

We believe | in our total inability to save ourselves, salvation is by God's grace alone. It is received by faith with repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as personal Savior.
(John 3:3, 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:8-10; 1 Peter 2:24.)

We believe | in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling presence enables believers to live holy and God-honoring lives. The Holy Spirit also reveals God's truth to the world and empowers Christians to walk in obedience and fulfill His purposes.
(Romans 8:5; Philippians 2:12-13; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 1 John 2:29).

We believe | water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is an outward sign of an inward work and is commanded by God following conversion.
(Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4.)

we believe | the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in every believer at the moment of salvation. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is distinct from salvation, releasing the power of the Holy Spirit through faith. Consistent with biblical accounts, believers should anticipate Spirit-baptism to be accompanied by speaking in tongues and other biblical manifestations. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is given to endue the believer with power from God, to offer an inspired witness for Christ, to lead the believer in a life of holiness, and to equip for a Spirit-filled life of service.
(John 7:37-39, 14:16; Acts 1:8, 2:4, 2:38-39, 8:14-17, 10:44-46, 19:6; 1 Corinthians 3:16.)

We believe | In the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved to everlasting life and the lost without
Christ to everlasting damnation.
(Matthew 24:31-46; Acts 24:15; Revelation 22:11; Matthew 13:41-43, 25:41; Mark 9:43-44; Revelation 14:10-11, 20:10-15, 21:7-8).

We believe | in the personal, visible, and triumphant second coming of Christ.
(Zechariah 14:4; Matthew 24:36-44; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10, 2:8; Titus 2:12-13; Revelation 1:7.)

We believe | Every blessing we receive from God comes through the merits of The Atonement (Jesus´ complete sacrifice for us on Calvary).
(Romans 5:11; James 1:16, 17)

We believe | in the sacredness of marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman and in the importance of strong family commitment. We are dedicated to promoting and strengthening biblical family values.
(Ephesians 5:31-33; Ephesians 6:1-4; Hebrews 13:4; Matthew 19:5 Leviticus 18:22; Genesis 2:24)

Who We Are: Pastors Oliver & Clavel Silva

Pastors Oliver and Clavel are passionate servants of God whose ministry journey has been marked by faith, obedience, and a deep love for people. Originally from Peru, they first came to the United States as missionaries to support and strengthen a local church community. During their years of ministry, they faithfully served wherever God called them, sharing the message of Christ and helping people grow in their faith.

Following God's leading, Oliver and Clavel later planted a church in Tijuana, Mexico, where they dedicated themselves to reaching families, discipling believers, and serving their community. Through this experience, they witnessed God's faithfulness and the transformative power of the Gospel in countless lives.

After years of fruitful ministry, they felt a clear calling from God to return to the United States and begin a new work. In obedience to that calling, they planted a church with a vision to create a welcoming place where people could encounter Jesus, build authentic relationships, and find hope and purpose.

Pastors Oliver and Clavel are deeply committed to serving others, especially those facing hardship. Their hearts for ministry extend beyond the church walls through community outreach, caring for those in need, supporting families, and helping the poor. They believe that demonstrating God's love through practical service is an essential part of the Christian faith.

Both pastors pursued their ministry training through Christian higher education. Pastor Oliver earned his Doctorate degree, while Pastor Clavel earned her Bachelor's degree, equipping them with a strong biblical foundation and a lifelong commitment to learning and leadership.

Together, Oliver and Clavel continue to faithfully lead with compassion, humility, and a desire to see lives transformed by the love of Jesus Christ. Their greatest joy is helping people discover God's purpose for their lives and building a church that serves both its congregation and the surrounding community.
